Care Guide
Ceramics
Our ceramic pieces are made to be both beautiful and practical, crafted for everyday living with lasting durability. With just a little mindful care, they’ll continue to bring warmth and charm to your home for years to come. Below are a few simple tips to help you keep them at their best.
Dishwasher
Our ceramics are dishwasher safe, but please load them with care. Keep pieces secure and spaced apart to prevent movement that could cause chipping or cracking.
Microwave
Our ceramic pieces are microwave-safe for easy, everyday use. Just avoid sudden temperature changes, as thermal shock can cause cracking.
Oven
Ceramics can withstand temperatures up to 700°C, so they are oven safe. Place them in a cool oven and allow them to heat gradually—this prevents stress cracks from sudden temperature shifts.
Thermal Shock
Avoid sudden temperature changes. Don’t move ceramics directly from cold to hot environments or vice versa. Let them reach room temperature before heating or cooling to prevent thermal shock and cracking.
Handwashing
For best longevity, wash with warm water, mild detergent, and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or materials like steel wool to protect the piece's smooth finish and glowing glaze.
Wooden Serveware
To keep your wooden serveware and bowls looking beautiful and lasting for years, a little mindful care goes a long way. These natural pieces thrive with gentle cleaning, thoughtful storage, and regular conditioning to preserve their rich grain and warm character.
Gentle Cleaning
- Hand-wash with mild soap and warm (not hot) water using a soft sponge or cloth.
- Dry thoroughly with a clean towel right after washing to prevent moisture absorption.
- Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive scrubbers that may damage the surface.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid stacking heavy items on top of your wooden pieces.
Maintenance
- Condition regularly with food-safe flaxseed oil or extra virgin olive oil to nourish and protect the wood.
- Apply a small amount of oil to a soft cloth, wipe evenly across all surfaces.
- Apply only when the piece is fully dry.
What to Avoid
- Do not soak in water or place in the dishwasher.
- Do not use in the microwave or oven.
- Avoid harsh detergents or scrubbing tools that can strip the wood’s natural finish.
- Avoid soaking, as prolonged water exposure can cause warping or cracking.
Leather Placemats
Our leather placemats are made with care and designed to age beautifully over time. To keep them looking their best, a little thoughtful care goes a long way. These pieces benefit from gentle cleaning and mindful handling. Follow the tips below to preserve their natural texture, rich color, and soft structure.
Gentle Cleaning
Wipe your placemats with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or spills. For deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap. Never use harsh cleaners or soak the leather.
Keep Out of Sunlight
Keep out of direct sunlight for long periods, as too much exposure can dry and fade the natural beauty of the leather.
Keep It Dry
If your placemat gets wet, gently blot with a clean cloth—never rub. Let it air dry slowly, away from direct heat sources.
Storage
Store your placemats flat or gently rolled the opposite way to maintain their shape. Keep them in a cool, dry place. Occasionally, roll placemats the opposite way to help maintain their smooth, flat shape.
Quick Clean After Meals
Always clean up food or liquid spills immediately to avoid stains. These placemats aren’t dishwasher-safe.
What to Avoid
- Harsh Cleaners: Skip strong cleaners, bleach, or alcohol-based products. A mild soap and a damp cloth are all you need.
- Hot Pans: Avoid placing anything hot directly on the placemats, as heat can warp or mark the leather.
- Rubbing: When drying or cleaning, blot instead of rubbing to prevent scuffing the texture.
- Soaking: Never soak the placemats in water. Prolonged exposure to moisture can weaken the leather and alter its shape.
